If you have been diagnosed with lymphedema, you may be eligible for treatment under a Chronic Disease Management PlanAt the present time, this service can only be provided by an Allied Health Care provider such as a Physiotherapist or Occupational TherapistPlease speak with your GP about the referral process.

You should receive an email from us immediately after successfully booking an online appointment.  We recommend that you complete your client history form thoroughly and return as soon as possible prior to your appointmentDepending on your treatment, I may contact you to discuss your medical history in more detail in order for me to devise an individual treatment plan tailored to your needs.

This often depends upon the type of massage treatment and any pre-existing pain.  You may have some discomfort or soreness during and/or after a Deep Tissue or Remedial Massage treatment, however this should not last more than 24 hours post treatment.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage and Soft touch Oncology Massage should never cause pain.  Your level of comfort is important for the outcome of your treatment therefore position and pressure adjustments are altered to suit each patient.

Yes!  There is no evidence that massage spreads cancer.  Many cancer patients find massage helpful, improving their overall psychological wellbeing and relieving some of the symptoms related to their treatment.

Depending on your chemotherapy treatment Carole may need to wear protective gloves and if you have a port the area will be avoided.  There should be no massage to any radiated areas for at least six weeks upon completion of treatment

This really depends on the reason for your visit.  If you are seeking massage for a remedial purpose, then weekly or fortnightly treatments are best until you start feeling results.

A level of self-commitment is often required to achieve the quickest and best results.  Treatments for oncology massage may be scheduled around your treatment plan and fatigue levels.  Manual Lymphatic Drainage treatments for post-surgical recovery can be given multiple times per week.

To keep your body in good condition and maintain health, maintenance massages are recommended.  This helps to prevent injury, pain and tension build-up in the muscle fibres or lymphatic system and promotes mobility, strength and improved muscle function.

Carole will discuss the best treatment plan for your individual needs and can help guide you to other professional services that may assist your requirements
